RentingOS vs QuickBooks

Spoiler: it's not vs. It's and. QuickBooks is excellent accounting. RentingOS is recurring billing, customer portal, and an integrated ITIL helpdesk. Most service SMBs need both — and QuickBooks sync is on our roadmap.

Honest take: If you're a 1-2 person shop with 10 customers and one-off jobs, QuickBooks alone (with Recurring Invoices) might be enough. The moment you hit 25+ recurring customers, your team starts copy-pasting between QuickBooks + Mailchimp + Stripe + DocuSign + a spreadsheet — that's when RentingOS pays for itself.

QuickBooks sync (on the roadmap)

A native two-way QuickBooks Online integration is on the RentingOS roadmap — it is not available yet. The plan: when you create an invoice in RentingOS it would appear in QuickBooks automatically, customer payments through the portal would post as deposits against the right account, and customer records, products, and chart of accounts would stay in sync. Today, RentingOS handles recurring billing, collections, and operations; you continue to manage accounting in QuickBooks. We'll announce the integration when it ships.
